Job Description
Advanced degree in a related field is preferred. Five years development, corporate fundraising at the major gift level, or comparable marketing/sales position is preferred. Equivalent education and experience would be considered. Strong communication skills are imperative, as are interpersonal and organizational skills. Solid understanding of standard, non-profit financial and accounting procedures and the preparation of financial materials is required. Knowledge of the arts is preferred; the ability to become quickly familiar with Kennedy Center programs is necessary. Knowledge of the general fund-raising climate and relevant funding sources locally and nationally is necessary. Computer literacy is required.

Requirements:
Manage and administer the solicitation of corporate sponsorships, foundation, and government grants, both unrestricted and restricted and, where appropriate, designated gifts from individuals, special events, and capital needs. In addition, manage and administer campaigns to underwrite the Kennedy Center’s major festivals. Serve as a liaison to festival steering committees (internal), and work with Kennedy Center Trustees, and other high level volunteers to raise designated funding. Primary responsibility for planning and developing the unrestricted foundation and government grants campaigns for the Kennedy Center. The current year expectations of this office are to raise or facilitate more than $24 million in annual support for the Kennedy Center and its programs. Oversee and generate work for two Development Assistants and an intern.
