Job Description
The skills below are needed for daily success in this position:
Required Technical Skills:
§ Beginning proficiency in Adobe Studio Web and print development products (i.e., Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Photoshop)
§ Intermediate capabilities in Microsoft Office—Excel, Word and PowerPoint—is required Proficiency using Microsoft Access and/or Project is a plus..
§ Understanding of networked office environments, web structures and workflows.
§ Beginning knowledge of basic HTML (**without using a WYSIWYG editor**).
§ Interest in acquiring additional Web-focused programming skills—particularly HTML and XML -- for use in rapid editing and content creation is a must.

Required Editorial Skills:
· Must be a strong, clear communicator. The ability to clearly articulate suggestions and ideas in both written and oral form and communicate with and within multiple teams is required.
· Demonstrated ability (or interest in) writing for young audiences and classrooms
· Must possess creative writing aptitude and excellent editorial execution, including attention to grammatical errors.




Required Administrative Skills:
· Ability to maintain and manage multi-level relationships with outside freelance consultants and vendors
· Must be extremely organized and capable of tracking issues on multiple projects while maintaining strategic focus.
· Demonstrated ability to coordinate, track and uphold staff workflow, group calendars and content goals.
· Must be able to correctly estimate and advocate for the time and effort needed to perform a task, able to meet deadlines with excellent problem-identification and reporting skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for the job.)
· Minimum 2 years knowledge and professional experience in an educational, interactive media production or nonprofit arts setting.
· Strong professional, technical, and creative writing ability, efficient and meticulous proofreading skills
· Must be extremely organized and capable of tracking issues on multiple projects simultaneously.
· Must be able to correctly estimate the time and effort needed to perform a task, able to meet deadlines with excellent problem-identification and reporting skills.
· Proven ability to multitask and prioritize heavy workload under team and time pressures.
· Ability to respond to project demands with creativity, flexibility and enthusiasm, and retain and respond to a great deal of detailed project information.
· Ability to clearly articulate suggestions and ideas in both written and oral form.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Proven experience with web and/or print publishing projects from inception to completion.
· Knowledge of K-12 focused instructional technology.
· Experience writing requirements and project documents.
· Familiarity with trends in Web content development, arts-related issues, and arts education.


Requirements:
The Program Coordinator’s role is to coordinate and provide administrative, project and production support for the ARTSEDGE program, which serves as the Kennedy Center's research, development and production team for educational media and technologies.
The Coordinator will immediately begin providing administrative and editorial support to workflow, production and publishing systems and staff, contributing to the development of new print and digital content, as well as optimizing existing products, to create outstanding user experiences for ARTSEDGE 's growing k-12 audiences: students, their families, teachers and communities.

Our ideal candidate possesses the experience and ability to fulfill both the role of a typical administrative coordinator while contributing to the creation of editorial content across multiple platforms. The incumbent will help with the planning, scheduling, tracking and coordination of key projects, ensuring deliverables are met in a timely manner, as well as assisting as needed to write, edit, proofread and otherwise prepare arts-based materials for student, parent and teacher use.
This position requires substantial focus, care, and attention. The incumbent will have deep, daily contact with staff and external vendors as part of a highly creative, mission-driven team. Candidate must be able to work on multiple complex concurrent projects involving collaborations with staff and vendors, and should be able to work collaboratively and independently on deadline. He or she will be a thoughtful, heavy user of online content and digital resources, with an intuitive understanding of the medium's limitations and possibilities—particularly for children and teens interested in the arts—and be able to leverage that understanding to build unique, exemplary digital content.
