Job Description Hours: April–May, 5-day week, and approximately 10am to 6pm Jun–Aug, 6-day week, approximately 45-50 hours per week Exact schedule will be determined directly with supervisors (Approx. 2/3 House Management and 1/3 Box Office) House Manager Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of audience in theatre: expeditious entrance, seating, comfort, security, appropriate behavior, and exit. Secure all auditorium doors before, during, and after performances. Coordinate closely with Production Coordinator, the visiting company’s stage manager, and the Ticket Services Manager to facilitate prompt curtain and intermission times. Manage corps of volunteer ushers, focusing on scheduling and training for superior customer service. Troubleshoot ticket problems, assist patrons with theatre related problems, and late attendees; access control and drop counts. Maintain safe, legal, tidy, and comfortable conditions in the auditorium, lobby, and restrooms; work with Director of Operations and Production and Ticket Services Manager to ensure ADA compliance; monitor volunteer ushers picking up programs and trash, and cleaning of auditorium, lobby, and restrooms by housekeeping. Ensure complete distribution of house and weekly programs to all patrons. Help direct emergency response for campus residents and patrons in case of emergency or extreme weather, under the general direction of the Director of Operations and Production. Ticket Sales Associate Responsibilities: Provide superior customer service; sales and daily reconciliation. Facilitate program information dissemination: maintain all information regarding performance and program schedules and content; maintain brochure rack supplies for brochures and postcards. Periodically supervise, train, and communicate season/artist/company/show information to interns. Attend Marketing meetings; participate in strategy and information sessions as part of the Marketing/Ticket Services staff. General Staff Responsibilities Act as staff member on call in rotation with other seasonal staff. Complete in-house Adult/Child CPR and First Aid Training. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: The successful candidate is highly detail-oriented and organized, computer literate, and has the maturity to deal with patrons and supervise interns. Understanding of dance forms, and experience with ticketing software and retail sales strongly preferred.
