Job Description Bachelor’s degree is required, as well as a minimum of one to three years experience working in development or a related field. Exceptional oral and written skills are essential. Experience in fundraising database management, event planning, budgeting and reporting is preferred. Requirements: The National Symphony Orchestra Development Assistant for Corporate, Foundation, Government reports directly to the NSO Manager of Development and work with an assistant manager. The Development Assistant will work closely with the development staff to draft correspondence, grant applications, sponsorship materials, and other materials; conduct corporate, foundation, and individual research; and maintain a large donor database. The Development Assistant will provide donor stewardship for all corporate, foundation, and government donors, which includes benefit fulfillment, maintaining donor listings and sponsorship credits, and maintaining donor contact information. Additionally, the Development Assistant will provide administrative support to a seven-person office, including maintenance of the NSO Development special events calendar, a calendar of grant application and reporting deadlines, and tracking departmental expense budgets related to corporate, foundation, government campaigns.
