Job Description The Acting Company, a 35-year-old touring classical theater company, seeks a skilled and experienced individual to fill the full-time position of Bookkeeper, reporting to the General Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to general bookkeeping and administration including: payroll processing (for 7-35 people); income/expense data entry; accounts receivable/payable processing; invoicing; reconciliations (bank and investment statements, petty cash and credit cards); preparation of 1099’s at year end; and annual audit. Financial liaison with Actor’s Equity Union. Requirements: Must be familiar with professional standards of accounting and bookkeeping. Requirements include: proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel; excellent organizational and communication skills; a minimum of one year of bookkeeping experience for a similar organization (non-profit and/or arts organization experience highly desirable); and the ability to work in an active environment.
