Job Description
This position requires an undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related field. At least seven to ten years experience as a human resource generalist with at least three to five of those years in senior management role. Incumbent must have working knowledge of welfare and retirement plans as well as EEOC, employee and labor relations, recruitment and compensation plans. Non-profit and/or government experience is preferred. Incumbent should have strong HRIS experience; knowledge of Lawson software is a plus.

The Head of Human Resources reports to the Executive Vice President of the Kennedy Center and oversees a staff of six professionals and support staff, including a Federal HR Officer. The Head of Human Resources oversees a budget of approximately five million dollars and leads the management and interpretation of ten collective bargaining agreements.

Requirements:
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To direct and manage the Human Resource function for the Kennedy Center and the National Symphony Orchestra, for approximately 1300 employees. Specific areas of responsibility include recruitment, training and professional development, wage and salary administration, benefit administration, employee and labor relations, budgetary management and legislative compliance as related to Human Resources.
