Job Description Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and/or 5 years of retail experience including at least three years of purchasing using Open to Buy. Buying experience should show creativity and include product development. Liaison to other Kennedy Center departments. Reviews and researches upcoming programs and events; identifies availability of appropriate merchandise for same. Assists in supervision, training and support of Retail Operations staff and volunteers. Coordinates merchandise displays including signage. Requirements: PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Primary buyer for the Kennedy Center Gift Shops and Concessions. Responsible for inventory management and visual display including appropriate signage. Provides administrative support for Retail Operations department and acts on the behalf of the director during the director’s absence. Will assist in shops on an as needed basis.
