Job Description
Develop, negotiate, secure and maintain corporate funding for Wolf Trap Foundation programs and initiatives. Secure contributed support for annual operations budget and special projects/initiatives through cash and in-kind sponsorships to achieve established fundraising goals to support seasonal and special initiative activities during the Filene Center and The Barns seasons, including Face of America, and other signature programs. Develop and implement corporate sponsorship fundraising strategies; initiate meetings with, and write, develop and present proposals/presentations for new and renewing sponsors; monitor the administration of benefits for corporate sponsors including, but not limited to, recognition, signage, events, ticketing and product distribution rights; coordinate with Communications and Marketing staff, Special Events/Associates staff, and others as needed to refine and design new means of corporate recognition and visibility. Work closely with Foundation staff responsible for administration of services procured and donated through sponsorships such as: telephone services, food and beverage products, and automobile leases, etc.; work with Senior Director, Development, Director, Annual Fund and appropriate Foundation senior staff to ensure that sponsorship program and recognition activities are integrated and coordinated appropriately with the requirements of the National Park Service; involve Wolf Trap’s leadership, senior staff, and program/service staff appropriately in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donor/prospect relationships; in cooperation with Director, Annual Fund, Senior Director, Development and other related staff, conduct regular screenings of new prospects, rate and rank new corporate prospects, and assign appropriate follow up action; attend cultivation and stewardship events; represent Foundation at community/industry events as appropriate; other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements:
BA/BS degree with business, marketing, fundraising courses or equivalent experience, minimum three to five years of development or equivalent experience, including corporate annual fund campaigns, and sponsorships. Familiarity with non-profit operations and management procedures and issues, and experience in addressing and dealing with those aspects. Working knowledge of personal computers and appropriate software (Microsoft Office), including database systems (Raiser’s Edge experience a plus); must maintain positive working relationships with corporate sponsor representatives including community affairs officers and marketing, public relations, advertising and philanthropy staff; must maintain professional demeanor and highest standards of integrity in all professional relationships, both external and internal; must be energetic, enthusiastic and positive in a demanding day-to-day schedule and environment; must have excellent negotiating skills and knowledge of the sponsorship industry; must possess excellent attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication skills; requires some knowledge of the performing arts industry, particularly as it relates to the non-profit side of the industry; sensitivity and commitment to the mission of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts.
